Why I switched from physical to chemical exfoliation and never looked back

For years, I assumed exfoliation had to feel productive. A scrub with fine grains, a textured cleansing cloth, or a polishing powder gave me that immediate smoothness I associated with clean, healthy skin. The effect was satisfying, especially around my nose and chin, where dry patches and congestion seemed most noticeable.

That approach became less appealing as my skin grew more reactive. That is why the switch has lasted. I am not chasing perfectly poreless skin or trying to exfoliate away every natural variation. I am choosing a slower method that supports the appearance and feel of my skin over time.
